Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred).
• Licensed Architect (RA) or pursuing licensure.
• 10+ years of experience with A/E consulting or construction firm.
• Experience with aviation facilities and restoration projects desirable.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with multi-project management.
• Excellent communication and client presentation skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all phases of architectural projects from concept through construction.
• Drive project development including scope, scheduling, budgeting, and consultant coordination.
• Lead and participate in client, stakeholder, and agency meetings for aviation and public-sector projects.
• Prepare and guide conceptual, schematic, and design development solutions including renovations and restoration.
• Support and oversee design and production teams; mentor junior staff.
• Perform construction administration including shop drawings, RFIs, site visits, punch lists.
• Ensure design documents meet codes and standards and coordinate QA/QC.
• Contribute to business development through proposals and client relationships.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities in aviation, municipal, and restoration markets.

Passero Associates’ Dayton, Ohio office is seeking a talented Senior Architect to join our collaborative, growing team. This full‑time role offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of municipal, aviation, and restoration projects. Our work tackles challenging design problems and delivers innovative solutions that enhance communities and critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all phases of architectural projects, from concept through construction
• Drive project development, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and consultant coordination
• Lead and participate in client, stakeholder, and agency meetings, particularly for aviation and public‑sector projects
• Prepare and guide conceptual, schematic, and design development solutions, including renovations and restoration efforts
• Support and oversee design and production teams, including mentoring junior staff and intern architects
• Perform construction administration services, including shop drawing review, RFIs, site visits, and punch lists
• Execute final preparation and quality control of all design documents (drawings, reports, and specifications)
• Apply deep knowledge of building codes, aviation regulations, and restoration standards to ensure compliance
• Contribute to business development efforts, such as proposal development, qualifications packages, interviews, and client relationship building
• Collaborate with leadership to identify new opportunities within aviation, municipal, and restoration markets

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred)
• Licensed Architect (RA) or actively pursuing licensure
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience with an A/E consulting or construction‑related firm
• Demonstrated experience with aviation facilities, such as terminals, hangars, support buildings, or airside/landside infrastructure (preferred)
• Experience with restoration, renovation, or historic preservation projects is highly desirable
• Strong planning and organizational skills with proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Extensive knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and construction administration practices
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and architectural production workflows
• Excellent communication skills, including technical writing, public speaking, and client presentations
• Interest and experience in mentoring and developing junior staff
• High attention to detail with experience in quality control and assurance oversight
• Collaborative team player who positively contributes to office culture and firm growth
• Interest in business development, client engagement, and long‑term relationship building
