Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Senior Associate, Archaeologist to join our Cultural Resources Services team in Houston, Texas. This role blends fieldwork, research, and project leadership to help clients comply with NHPA Section 106, NEPA, and related regulations while advancing responsible development across infrastructure and energy projects.

You will conduct archaeological studies, mentor staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cultural heritage solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology (or closely related field) and 1–2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with inventory, survey, testing, or data recovery in archaeological contexts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and writing for NHPA Section 106 and NEPA documents for diverse projects.
• Perform literature reviews, field reconnaissance, surveys, and excavation activities.
• Interact with State Historic Preservation Offices and federal agencies; document work thoroughly.
• Lead and mentor staff and contribute to high-quality project delivery.
