Terracon in the United States is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for a wide range of cultural resource projects. You will mentor teams, build client relationships, and advance the practice of archaeology.

Qualifications

• SOI-qualified. (Secretary of the Interior)
• Graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field (M.A., M.S., or Ph.D.)
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive archaeological and cultural resources experience.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, local, and Tribal CRM requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, project management, and business development skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead Terracon’s safety culture and promote proactive safety practices.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, risk management, and overall project performance.
• Prepare and review technical reports, artifact analysis, NRHP recommendations, and SHPO deliverables.
• Mentor and develop archaeologists and CR professionals.
• Ensure compliance with CRM requirements at all government levels.
• Support business development through client engagement, proposals, and presentations.
• Identify and pursue new project opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
• Participate in the Archaeology Practice Resource Group and advance the profession.
• Represent Terracon at conferences and professional events as a SME.
• Serve as Authorized Project Reviewer ensuring technical quality across projects.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

• Serve as an Authorized Project Reviewer, ensuring technical quality and consistency across projects.
