Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
• Minimum five years’ experience in accounting or related field.
• Local presence in Knoxville, TN or surrounding communities is required.
• Implied knowledge of GAAP and internal controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and adjust general ledger accounts and prepare financial statements for management.
• Maintain controls and processes in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
• Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Oversee certain journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
• Reconcile cash, accounts, and transactional activity; research variances and follow up on items.
• Provide financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Document accounting processes and participate in special projects as assigned.
• Mentor staff and junior accountants, reviewing their work.
