Job summary

The Trade Desk in Bellevue, WA is seeking an Application Security Engineer to help build secure software, automate security tooling, and strengthen our development pipelines. You will work with engineering teams to identify risks, implement practical mitigations, and improve integrations with SAST/DAST/SCA and CI/CD.

You should have 4+ years of software development experience, know languages like C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript, and be passionate about secure coding and modern security practices.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent through internships, open-source contributions, or personal projects.
• Experience developing software in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript.
• Strong interest in secure software and writing clean, well-tested code.
• Familiar with secure software development fundamentals and common web vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).

Responsibilities

• Build tools, automations, and integrations to help engineers develop more secure software.
• Partner with software engineering teams to identify security issues and implement practical solutions.
• Develop and improve integrations with SAST, DAST, SCA, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigate security findings from internal testing and bug bounty programs, and help remediates vulnerabilities.
• Participate in design and code reviews to identify security risks early in the lifecycle.
• Write production-quality code that enhances the Application Security program and scalability.
• Evaluate emerging development technologies, including AI-assisted development, for secure engineering practices.
• Learn from experienced Application Security engineers and grow expertise in secure software design and developer enablement.
