Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist for Prime Video's Compression Efficiency Research Team to advance DL-based video enhancement and content-adaptive encoding. You will collaborate with Research Scientists and ML engineers to push state-of-the-art quality under varying network conditions.

You’ll design ground-truth datasets, develop diffusion/denoising approaches, and deploy models in production workflows, contributing to scalable, high-quality streaming experiences for customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application.
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Responsibilities

• Create ground-truth datasets and novel video diffusion model architectures ensuring temporal consistency and perceptual quality.
• Train and optimize models for production with scalable deployment and define at-scale success criteria.
• Collaborate with research scientists and ML engineers to publish approaches in tier-1 conferences and improve video encoding/compression.
