Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is hiring an applied scientist at Principal level to advance ASR, TTS, S2S translation, and conversational AI for enterprise customers. You will design, train, and deploy speech and language models, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and product managers across OCI.

In this role, you will own model development from research to production, focusing on accuracy, scalability, security, and privacy, while contributing to documentation and cross-team reviews

Qualifications

• PhD or Master with ML/DL research and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in developing/evaluating DL models for ASR, TTS, S2S translation or NLP.
• Strong publication record or open-source contributions.
• Proficient in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills in speech/lang processing.
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D in ASR, TTS, S2S translation, and conversational AI.
• Design, train, and fine-tune deep learning models for speech recognition, synthesis, and translation.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product teams to integrate speech AI into OCI products.
• Analyze enterprise requirements to deliver scalable solutions.
• Ensure responsible AI with security and data privacy best practices.
• Share insights through documentation, code reviews, and planning.
• Continuously learn new AI/ML methodologies relevant to speech.
