Amazon is hiring a Senior Applied Scientist in Sunnyvale, CA, within Customer Forecasting and Valuation (CFV). You will develop transformer-based models to quantify how customer actions translate into value over the year ahead, and ship production systems that inform launches and investments.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of applied research, strong ML and causal inference skills, and a track record of building machine learning models for business applications. PhD or MS+6 years preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of applied research experience.
• 3+ years of building ML models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop transformer-based foundation models of customer behavior.
• Bridge experimental ground truth and model training for production systems.
• Partner with senior scientists, product owners, and engineers.
• Translate research into scalable production systems that influence launches and investments.
