Job summary

Axiomatic AI is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to bridge AI research and production software. You will design and implement LLM-powered product features, mentor junior AI developers, and establish engineering standards for testing, reviews, maintainability, and operational readiness.

You will evaluate models and prompts, ensure production quality, collaborate with backend engineers, and ship AI workflows that are verifiable and scalable.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with production ownership.
• Experience deploying LLMs and AI/ML in production (OpenAI API, HuggingFace, LangChain).
• Strong fundamentals in design patterns, code structure, testing, and code reviews.
• Cloud infra experience with GCP Vertex AI or AWS SageMaker.
• CI/CD and DevOps: Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Bridge AI research and production software, delivering practical features.
• Design and implement LLM-powered product features and tooling.
• Make principled trade-offs between models and approaches (quality, latency, cost).
• Enable AI developers to deploy their work reproducibly and safely.
• Establish engineering standards for applied AI development and testing.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate AI capabilities into the product.
• Mentor junior AI developers and supervise PRs for high quality.
