Job summary

University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking a results-driven Application Programmer for the Office of Information Technology. This role focuses on Oracle SFP Cloud Service with Java, Groovy, and SQL as core languages, plus exposure to OIC, OAP/BIP, APEX, and RESTful APIs.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in software development, strong OO design skills, secure coding practices, and the ability to work independently or in a team while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience / training.
• 3-5 years of experience with software development, Object-Oriented Design and Programming, SQL development experience and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) utilizing Java, Groovy, and SQL.
• Advanced skills in software design, modification, implementation, and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts, with hands-on experience in Java and Groovy, and SQL.
• Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
• Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Apply skills as a seasoned, experienced software professional on medium-sized projects or portions of large projects with moderate scope and complexity.
• Resolve a wide range of issues and demonstrate competency in selecting tools, methods and techniques to obtain results.
• Demonstrate ability to mentor junior developers and other IT staff and communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
