Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, seeks an Applications Engineer II/III to translate customer needs into cost-effective automation concepts. You will own concept development, cost estimation, and proposal creation while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid/onsite role near Ogden/Salt Lake City, UT.

The role requires 5+ years in automation, CAD proficiency in SolidWorks/Creo/CATIA/Visual Components, and strong communication skills. Onsite with possible hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; two years of experience per year of study.
• 5+ years of experience in automation, machinery, or related technical industries.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Visual Components).

Responsibilities

• Understand customer specifications and pain points in depth.
• Interact with customers during definition of machine requirements and proposal presentations.
• Generate conceptual automation solutions for applications with no standard or prior solutions using CAD tools.
• Develop cost estimates, risk assessments, and system flow diagrams to support proposals.
• Prepare and participate in internal and external quote reviews, presenting concepts, costs, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Mentor junior Applications Engineers, co-ops, and interns.
