Job summary

Web Industries is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing. You will translate customer requirements into actionable solutions and support successful application of products in controlled manufacturing environments.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 7+ years of related experience, with strong communication skills and experience with CAD software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related), 7+ years of related experience.
Technical, Planning, and Problem-solving skills.
Strong computer skills including MS Office, MS Project and design software (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
Experience with Lean, Six-Sigma methodologies such as FMEA, DOE, SPC.
Experience using/interacting with ERP systems.
Excellent customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

Create internal and deliverable technical material, data and documentation and assist with training.
Develop quotes, cost estimates and models balancing performance, cost, manufacturability and schedule.
Assess existing processes and drive improvements on a rolling basis.
Prepare and lead technical proposals and design reviews.
Interpret and clarify customer specifications, statements of work, drawings and performance requirements.
Stay current with industry developments through publications, conferences and trade shows and engage with vendors/technical institutions.
Maintain contact with customers and vendors at technical and commercial levels.
Recommend and justify process, technology and equipment improvements.
Support complex or non-standard application development including first-time builds and development programs.
Assist product transition from development to production by defining application requirements.
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Quality, Maintenance and Purchasing for successful execution.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for application or material issues.
Provide advanced technical troubleshooting for cutting accuracy, material handling, or application fit/form/function.
Work autonomously while balancing priorities and aligning with cross-functional teams.
