As a key member of the team, this position will report to the Director of Applications Engineering. You will join as senior member of our global applications engineering (AE) team, focused on responding to customer and internal requests for the development of proposals throughout North America and Australia.The compensation range for this role is $105,000 to $150,000, in addition to an annual bonus, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:Deliver high-quality technical solutions and proposals that drive profitable growth, ensuring clear priorities, accountability, and strong team performance.Serve as a key member of the leadership team by informing commercial strategy, identifying product and market growth opportunities, and improving proposal win-rate and speed-to-customer.Partner closely with sales, design engineering, process SMEs, operations, project delivery, safety, procurement, and key vendors to align technical solutions with commercial goals, maintain accurate cost data and ensure consistent execution across stakeholders.Maintain awareness of competitor offerings, positioning, and market trends to inform strategy development and support increased market share.Ensure organized and complete handoff from proposals to project execution following contract award.Direct and coordinate technical reviews for bid requests, contributing to risk evaluation and bid/no-bid decisions.Partner with procurement and key vendors to maintain accurate, current cost data for standard and custom equipment pricing.Your Skills and ExpertiseThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.BS Engineering or equivalent technical degree required8+ years of experience as an applications engineer, process engineer, project engineer, project manager, or related role5+years of experience in water treatment process systems solutionsProfessional Engineer license preferred, not requiredPossess persuasive presentation and effective communication skills-both verbal and written-across cultures requiredWillingness and ability to travel 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally requiredExperience pulling teams together to formulate winning bidsAbility to adapt strategy to meet customer needsUnderstanding of business, competitive landscape, legal/regulatory environment, needs/challenges of customersOnterris is a leading global environmental solutions company partnering with organizations to solve complex challenges where environmental pressures, regulatory expectations and operational risks intersect.
