CVS Health is looking for a Staff Application Security Engineer - Threat Research to secure modern healthcare technology. You will combine application security engineering, threat research, and secure development practices across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will embed security throughout the SDLC, conduct assessments, research emerging threats, and build scalable security solutions while guiding multiple teams and improving the organization’s security posture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in application security, information security, software engineering, or related roles.
• 5+ years with programming or scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, C/C++, PowerShell, Shell).
• 3+ years securing public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 3+ years with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years with Infrastructure as Code or Security as Code practices.
• 3+ years of app security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support application security standards, policies, and best practices.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security into design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Promote secure coding practices and remediate findings.
• Contribute to security automation initiatives for scalability.
• Conduct threat research, vulnerability analysis, and threat modeling.
• Evaluate risks and provide actionable recommendations to teams.
• Design and support security controls across cloud and enterprise environments.
• Mentor engineers and security practitioners.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
