Job summary

Lucid is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer in Raleigh, NC, a hybrid role embedded in the development lifecycle. You will partner with engineering, product and leadership to build security in from the start, maturing SSDLC and implementing secure coding standards.

You will mentor engineers, drive risk-based decisions, and ensure AI tools and processes stay within acceptable risk limits, while strengthening collaboration across product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software security or related field within SaaS.
• Proven track record with product and engineering teams.
• Experience securing web apps on modern cloud-native stacks; AWS preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security architecture and design reviews for new features.
• Drive risk-based prioritization of vulnerabilities.
• Serve as SME on application security for stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers on secure development practices.
• Mature SSDLC and security training across teams.
• Ensure security tooling integrates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead product design reviews with security in mind.
