Job summary

Gallagher in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is seeking a senior software engineer to design, build, and maintain REST APIs using C#, the .NET Framework/Core, and related technologies. You will leverage Azure for cloud-based app development, optimize SQL Server databases, and contribute to AI-assisted development and automation.

You'll mentor junior developers, manage source control with Git and Azure DevOps, and help shape scalable architectures.

How you'll make an impact

• Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs using C#, the .NET Framework, .NET Core, or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Utilize Azure technologies for cloud-based application development and deployment, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Static Web Apps, Azure Container Apps, and related services.
• Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performing database performance tuning.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, custom agents, and workflow automation to accelerate software delivery.
• Apply strong object-oriented programming principles to design and implement scalable, maintainable software solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior developers by providing guidance, support, and technical expertise.
• Manage source code using Git repositories, Azure DevOps, or VSTS while following version-control best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure high performance, reliability, and stability of applications.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes and practices.
• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Exposure to front-end technologies such as Angular or React.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Exposure to designing complex systems and scalable application architectures.
