As a Senior Application Analyst – Epic Beaker/EpicCare Link, you will work on business systems design and configuration, Upgrades, and improvements for assigned technology platforms. As a primary support contact for application end-users, the Senior Application Analyst – Epic Beaker/EpicCare Link will work to identify issues that arise in the application area, as well as issues that impact other application teams and work to resolve them. The Senior Application Analyst – Epic Beaker/EpicCare Link will perform impact analysis of desired changes, build and test systems changes, and identify areas of improvement associated with platform performance and opportunities to enable business processes and requirements.

The Senior Application Analyst – Epic Beaker/EpicCare Link will act as a mentor to more junior analysts on the team, support questions and may delegate activities to other analysts.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the estimation of enhancement or support requests.
  • Guide workflow design, configure and test system changes, and analyze technical issues.
  • Liaise with business systems stakeholders and software vendor’s implementation staff, ensuring alignment of business needs with delivery of systems changes.
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization’s workflows; proactively identify opportunities to improve business workflow with technology improvements.
  • Participate in training and work with end users.
  • Troubleshoot problems and questions.
  • Provide end-user support for issues entered into tracking systems.
  • Review the status of projects and issues with project leadership.
  • Assign or delegate configuration or other activities to Application Analysts or Managed Services team members.
  • Act as delegate for Applications Manager for incident or problem resolution.
  • Provide mentorship for other peers and leadership to solve problems, even if it’s outside of their normal responsibilities/scope.
  • Be a leader on internal process design and documentation to drive continuous improvement for the IT department or team.
  • Ability to work within normal business hours, as well as on-call, with potential for nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions, either in an application analyst or project delivery role and Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following areas: patient identification workflows in the healthcare setting, revenue cycle, CRM & MyChart, Patient Registration, or lab order entry.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain relevant Epic software application(s) certification within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification in Epic Beaker CP or EpicCare Link.
  • Additional relevant Epic certifications, such as Epic Genomics, Epic Aura, Epic Beaker AP, Epic Ambulatory, or Epic Orders.
  • Experience supporting or configuring Epic Aura workflows, especially from the perspective of a reference lab.
  • Experience working in a health system, reference laboratory, biotechnology, or life sciences environment.
  • Experience supporting multiple Epic applications and cross-functional Epic workflows.
  • Experience supporting clinical laboratory operations, pathology, genetics, or oncology workflows.
  • Experience leading medium-to-large Epic projects, upgrades, workflow optimizations, or major application enhancements.

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
