Job summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced Appian Developer in a senior information engineering role. You will design and implement enterprise-wide IT systems and AI-enabled solutions, leading the development of proofs of concept and production-grade capabilities.

Responsibilities include planning, analyzing, and guiding information systems, overseeing technical teams, and ensuring compliance with security and governance standards. The role emphasizes hands-on Appian work and integration with AI services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in information systems development and related analyses.
• Progressive experience managing information engineering projects and teams.
• Hands-on Appian development including workflows, interfaces, and integrations.
• Experience integrating Appian with REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise systems.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Proven managerial and leadership experience providing direction to technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Apply enterprise-wide disciplines for planning, analysis, design, and construction of information systems.
• Lead information systems development including requirements analysis and documentation.
• Conduct strategic systems planning to support mission objectives.
• Model processes and data to support planning and analysis efforts.
• Develop migration strategies for legacy-to-target transitions.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and reuse shared capabilities.
• Design and build Appian AI-enabled applications and reusable components.
• Configure Appian process models, interfaces, data types, and integrations to implement workflows.
• Integrate AI APIs and cloud AI services within Appian apps.
• Optimize prompts, model selection, and token use for AI-enabled solutions.
• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to technical staff.
• Deliver clear technical materials and presentations to stakeholders.
