Job summary

The Workshop LA in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Product Developer with 8+ years in apparel product development and sourcing to lead the development process from material sourcing through production handoff.

This hands-on role oversees fabric, yarn, and trim sourcing across multiple categories, manages domestic and overseas vendors, calendars, sampling, costing, quality approvals, and timelines, while mentoring the Product Development Assistant.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of apparel product development and sourcing experience.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, yarns, trims, garment construction, cut-and-sew, and fully fashioned sweaters.
• Experience managing overseas and domestic vendors.
• Strong understanding of costing, sampling, and development calendars.
• Extremely organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and hands-on.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fabric, yarn, and trim sourcing and development across all categories.
• Manage the full product development process, including sampling, pricing, timelines, and vendor communication.
• Track development status, samples, materials, approvals, and deadlines.
• Partner with Creative, Design, Costing, Production, and Pre-Production teams.
• Ensure quality standards and cost targets are met.
• Troubleshoot development issues and proactively manage timelines.
• Maintain organized development records and ensure smooth production handoffs.
• Oversee sample fabric and trim inventory.
• Mentor and manage the Product Development Assistant.
