Job summary

Nike in Beaverton seeks an Expert Material Designer to combine design expertise, problem-solving, and creativity to shape the future of Nike apparel materials. You will contribute to the long-term strategic direction for apparel textile innovation and design on the Apparel Material Design Excellence team.

The ideal candidate is a highly creative problem solver who elevates both product and team environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in design or related field; combination of education and training may be accepted.
Proficiency with design software (Creative Suite) and digital design tools.
Experience with advanced digital tools/3-D skills.
Strong presentation and communication abilities.
Understanding of brief to manufacturing processes.
Awareness of sustainable materials.

Responsibilities

Design concepts and deliver materials using latest techniques to keep NIKE on the vanguard.
Help curate, elevate and modernize NIKE’s existing apparel material palettes.
Lead tech pack creation from concept to delivery; collaborate with diverse NIKE teams.
Influence seasonal material strategy and provide leadership through strategy.
Inspire the team, mentor peers, and foster a world-class, engaging team environment.
