Job summary

Steampunk, Inc. in McLean, Virginia, seeks an Integration Lead to advance our DevSecOps practice by building APIs, microservices, and integrations across cloud platforms to connect data, services and systems for client missions.

You will translate stakeholder needs into scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and ensure secure, reliable delivery on the Anypoint Platform, focusing on API management and CI/CD automation. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on delivery.

Qualifications

BS in IT or related field or with 2 years IT experience in another field
8+ years of experience with one or more clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
8+ years with Git SCM providers (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
8+ years with one or more programming or scripting languages
8+ years with integration technologies (e.g., MuleSoft)
Experience developing API Management solutions and micro-services

Responsibilities

Understand stakeholder needs and convey to developers
Test and review code and analyze results
Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats
Identify technical problems and perform root-cause analysis
Develop APIs, microservices, and integrations for functional systems
Design reusable assets, components, and frameworks for API projects
Advise on performance, scalability, reliability, and monitoring on Anypoint Platform
Translate functional requirements into integration interfaces
Create technical documentation for integrations for non-technical audiences
Document current environment, perform gap analysis, and produce recommendations
Mentor junior team members
Engineer solutions and pursue continuous improvement
Present status updates and cross-train teammates
