Job summary

Deloitte is seeking an Integration Engineer II to design and implement API-driven integration across cloud and on-prem environments. You will work with Python/JavaScript/TypeScript, modern integration tools, and Azure to deliver scalable solutions for enterprise clients.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and help shape API security, data mapping, and SDLC practices. Travel up to 50% may be required; sponsorship may be limited.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Python/JavaScript/TypeScript for backend services and APIs.
• Experience designing and implementing integration solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and architectural styles (e.g., point-to-point, hub-and-spoke, event-driven, pub/sub, ESB, iPaaS).
• Hands-on experience with API design and development (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
• Knowledge of API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, API keys) and versioning.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms/tools: MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalk, Boomi.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Data mapping, transformation, orchestration across heterogeneous systems.
• Experience SDLC including CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment across Dev/Test/UAT/Prod.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior developers.
• Travel up to 50%.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture spanning frontend, backend, integration layers, and cloud infra (Azure).
• Define technical standards, integration design patterns, and best practices to guide the development team.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and data mapping references.
• Build backend services and APIs using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Azure, and tools like MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalk (must have 2+).
• Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs connecting third-party and internal systems for reliable data exchange.
• Implement API security, versioning, rate limiting, and robust error handling.
• Manage the full SDLC, including dev/test/UAT/production environments.
• Monitor integration performance and provide post-deployment support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data flows and best practices.
• Take ownership of projects and mentor junior staff toward delivery.
