Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to own API governance and MCP enablement across enterprise systems. You will design, implement, and maintain API standards, lifecycle controls, and developer enablement programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in API governance and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of REST, OpenAPI, API lifecycle management and security.
• Experience implementing governance, design guidelines, and lifecycle controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain API governance and MCP enablement solutions.
• Drive adoption of technical standards via developer coaching and enablement programs.
• Define API standards, design guidelines, and governance frameworks across enterprise.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure security, privacy, and compliance in APIs.
• Translate complex risk requirements into actionable engineering guidance.
• Review and prioritize tasks for incremental delivery; identify blockers early.
