Job summary

Formlabs in Somerville, MA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for API & Automation to design APIs and automation that connect Formlabs software with printers. You will build production APIs/SDKs and robust automation to integrate print workflows, working with product teams and external developers.

The role emphasizes reliable, scalable software, collaboration across disciplines, and a strong focus on connecting software with physical manufacturing systems.

Qualifications

• Experience building APIs, SDKs, or other developer-facing software.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, data structures, object-oriented design, and cloud services.
• Enjoy solving ambiguous, technically challenging problems across multiple systems.
• Comfortable working across system boundaries and debugging complex interactions between software components.
• Interested in the interaction between software and physical devices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production APIs and SDKs for interacting with Formlabs software, printers, and manufacturing workflows.
• Build reliable automation systems that enable customers to integrate print preparation and Formlabs printers into their software and workflows.
• Ship value-generating features to customers by building and evolving reliable, easy-to-use APIs.
• Work with Product Management teams and external developers to solve complex problems and shape the long-term technical direction.
