Job summary

Formlabs in Somerville, MA is seeking a Software Engineer for the API & Automation team. You’ll design and build APIs and SDKs that connect Formlabs printers and software, enabling developers to automate workflows and integrate with the ecosystem.

You'll collaborate with product managers and external developers, tackle cross-system challenges, and ship reliable features that power manufacturing automation. Prior API/SDK experience and a solid foundation in software architecture are key.

Qualifications

• Experience designing APIs, SDKs, or developer-facing software.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, data structures, OO design, and cloud services.
• Comfort solving ambiguous, cross-system technical challenges and debugging complex interactions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production APIs and SDKs for interacting with Formlabs software, printers, and manufacturing workflows.
• Build reliable automation systems to integrate print preparation and Formlabs printers into customers' software and workflows.
• Ship value-generating features by building and evolving reliable, easy-to-use APIs.
• Work with Product Management teams and external developers to solve complex problems and shape long-term technical direction.
