Job summary

Altimetrik is seeking a senior API/Backend engineer to own API architecture and deliver enterprise-scale integrations in Azure. You will design REST/OpenAPI interfaces, drive contract-first development, and ensure secure, scalable data transfer patterns.

The role requires hands-on Java with Spring Boot and WebFlux, plus deep experience with AWS/Azure services, CI/CD and IaC. You will communicate complex designs to engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in API, integration or backend engineering.
• 3+ years owning API architecture and design at enterprise scale.
• Strong hands-on Java with Spring Boot and Spring WebFlux.
• Deep API design skills: REST and OpenAPI, versioning and idempotency.
• Secure file-transfer patterns at scale including SFTP and signed URLs.
• Architect target-state designs and defend trade-offs.
• Hands-on API delivery in Azure: App Service, AKS, Container Apps.
• Azure API Management, Entra ID, and Key Vault security.
• Messaging with Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus or Kafka.
• Python for automation and testing; strong SQL/data modeling.
• CI/CD and IaC with Azure DevOps, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Own API architecture and design at enterprise scale.
• Deliver API solutions in Azure with containerized deployments.
• Define and defend target-state designs to stakeholders.
• Implement secure file transfer patterns and large payload handling.
