Job Description

Position Summary:

Link Apartments Mixson in Charleston, SC are looking for a full-time Senior Service Technician to join their team. The Senior Service Technician handles all phases of maintenance relating to the completion of work orders, preparation of apartments for occupancy, and implementation of preventative maintenance programs. Understands all functions of the Service Supervisor. This position will report to the Property Manager.

What will you do in this role:

• Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, plumbing, roofs, gutters, and recreational facilities.
• Assist with the quality and efficiency of turning vacant apartments into make-ready units; oversee inspections, and prepare apartments for occupancy.
• Provide written explanations of work performed in each unit.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained community, and foster good public relations.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of the pool and pool area, including chemical levels and equipment maintenance.
• Complete all work orders within 24 hours.
• Adhere to personnel directives and safety requirements.
• Share 24-hour emergency call duties with the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Learn all aspects of on-site maintenance and implement them in preparing apartments for occupancy.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• Report hazardous or emergency situations.

Our ideal candidate has the following:

• Two to five years of experience in maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of heat pumps, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
• HVAC certification; willingness to obtain a Certified Pool Operator license.
• Pleasing personality and good interpersonal skills.
• Mechanical skills, organizational skills, enthusiasm for the job.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Work in residential buildings and outdoors.
• Moderate supervision.
• Move about frequently, including walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to drive a golf cart.
