Job summary

E-Space seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the design and delivery of a deployable payload antenna structure. This hands-on role develops unique solutions from concept to manufacturing, coordinating across design, analysis, and fabrication teams.

On-site in California or Texas with travel between sites. You will perform structural analyses, lead mechanism design, and prepare detailed drawings and GD&T for flight hardware.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6 to 8 years of hands‑on experience bringing your CAD from the desktop to your desk‑top.
• Experience with deployable space structures.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of a deployable payload antenna structure — from preliminary layout through detailed design, analysis, and release to manufacturing.
• Lead structure and mechanisms design, including deployment kinematics, hold down and release mechanism make/buy decisions and rapid prototyping.
• Perform structural and dynamic analysis to meet mass, stiffness, and packaging requirements.
• Take the structure and mechanisms through qualification for the flight environment (thermal-vacuum, vibration, and shock).
• Create detailed drawings, GD&T, and interface control documentation for cross-functional team consumption.
• Support manufacturing, integration, and test, resolving mechanical anomalies throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Be a CAD modeling expert (SolidWorks) managing CAD assemblies and drawings.
