Job summary
Astranis seeks a Senior Antenna Engineer to design, qualify, and procure antenna system components for production and R&D. You will optimize system-level RF performance and drive improvements at the component and system level.
You will collaborate with Structural, Thermal, and Software-Defined Radio teams to meet overall system requirements and work with vendors to validate performance in clean-room and anechoic environments. Location: San Francisco, CA, onsite.
Qualifications
- 5-15+ years of antenna systems design experience in research or industry.
- Ability to relocate to San Francisco and work onsite.
- Collaborate across mechanical, thermal, and software teams.
- Experience with vector network analyzers and anechoic/near-field ranges.
- Proven ability to solve RF/antenna design challenges innovatively.
Responsibilities
- Leverage design tools to realize high-performance antenna systems for on-orbit use.
- Design and procure space-qualified RF components and validate performance.
- Co-design antenna systems with Structural/Thermal and SDR teams.
- Collaborate with sales to propose antenna solutions meeting customer needs.
- Assist in recruiting and growing the engineering team.
