Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia seeks a physician with MD/DO credentials and an accredited residency in Anesthesiology to join its clinical team. Qualifications

• Experience utilizing a personal computer and computerized scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Works with medical director, administrative management, office manager and nursing staff to facilitate patient management through the health care system.
• Exercises independent judgment in assessment, diagnosing and initiation of medical processes commensurate with training and credentialing.
• Performs and documents health histories and physical assessments; initiates emergency therapy when needed.
• Formulates diagnoses and communicates with the health care team.
• Orders medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with regulations.
• Requests consultations and referrals to other physicians when needed.
• Evaluates patient responses to interventions and provides information to patients and families.
