Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own major features in our Android app and help scale a fast-growing, distributed product used by millions. You’ll collaborate with design and engineering to deliver high-quality features and push the Android experience forward.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering with strong Kotlin experience, Android UI/UX focus, and a track record of shipping robust mobile apps in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Strong understanding of Android UI/UX and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Own major features in the Android app and collaborate with design for quality UX.
• Shape the future direction of the Android team and roadmap.
• Maintain reliability metrics for key features and release cycles.
• Participate in cross-team discussions with Product, Design, and Eng.</br>Engineering
• Review pull requests and support teammates during sprints.
• Address critical issues and ensure smooth nightly builds for QA.
