Job summary

CIS Mobile is seeking a Senior Android Platform Developer to enhance our altOS platform, a security-hardened Android distribution. You will collaborate with server, application and engineering teams to extend the platform and deliver new features.

The role emphasizes C/C++ and Java skills, AOSP customization, and Linux-based development. Remote work option is available, with no current sponsorship for employment authorization.

Qualifications

• Experience compiling, modifying, and installing AOSP.
• Experience with Android Platform/Framework development and debugging.
• Experience with Linux-based development and kernel/driver work.
• Experience porting Android ROMs or contributing to custom distributions.

Responsibilities

• Support and extend altOS, our custom Android distribution with focus on security.
• Design and build advanced Android applications extending the base OS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features.
• Perform product design, bug verification, and release testing on a custom Android ROM/ distribution.
• Work with App and Server teams to develop OS/framework features not possible in standard Android apps.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
