Job summary

Google LLC seeks engineers for Beam's Android System and Frameworks, delivering low-latency, power-efficient platform software across custom HAL interfaces and framework extensions. You will own foundational software powering Beam in a dynamic team environment.

You will work on real-time computing, machine perception, and hardware-software co-design, with opportunities to switch projects as Google evolves. Strong C/C++/Kotlin/Java skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/EE or related field.
• 5 years of software development experience in C/C++/Kotlin/Java.
• 3 years of testing, maintaining, or launching software products with large-scale design.
• 3 years of Android app or framework development.
• Experience with low-level systems programming and HALs/Linus interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Drive low-level platform architecture across the Android stack.
• Develop HAL interfaces (AIDL/HIDL) and framework extensions.
• Profile performance, optimize power, and ensure robust platform software.
• Collaborate with silicon vendors, BSP, and hardware teams on tech choices.
