Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own major features in our widely-used Android app and help scale the product for millions of users. This distributed team values fast decisions, rigorous code, and great user experiences.

You will collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering, ship nightly builds for QA, and drive reliability metrics while shaping the Android team's future.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with Android components.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Kotlin expertise and strong testing mindset.
• Self-motivated with a passion for great UX.

Responsibilities

• Own major features and deliver high-quality Android app components with design team.
• Shape the future of the Android team.
• Own, maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering.
• Review pull requests and support teammates.
• Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges.
• Manage feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA.
