Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead mobile experiences at the center of trading journeys. You will work with product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable, high-quality apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM, and modern Android APIs.

The role emphasizes end-to-end feature ownership, mentoring peers, and shaping architecture in a fast-moving, high-impact environment in Menlo Park or NYC. Expect in-person collaboration several days a week.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience developing Android applications.
  • Proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, and a strong grasp of Android SDK and architecture patterns like MVVM.
  • Experience using Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow or RxJava, and libraries such as Retrofit and Room.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a product-focused mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, lead complex projects, and influence architecture decisions.

We collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to ensure every interaction on Android reflects quality, performance, and care.

The company’s Trading Products team builds and evolves the customer-facing stock trading experience within Brokerage Engineering, owning key parts of the equities product surface. The team works across core order flows, trading state updates, and frontend product experiences to help customers research, place, and manage trades with reliability at scale.

As a Senior Android Engineer on this team, you would lead the development of high-impact mobile experiences that sit at the center of the trading journey. We’re looking for someone who can drive complex Android work end to end, partner closely across functions, and bring the technical depth and product judgment to flex into staff-level scope for the right candidate.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York City, NY office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

Base Pay Range:

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC): $196,000 — $230,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL): $172,000 — $202,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL): $153,000 — $179,000 USD
