Job summary

Comcast Technology and Product Experience (TPX) is seeking an experienced Android Developer to join the Protection Experiences Engineering team. This role focuses on customer-facing mobile development for Xfinity Home Security IoT, including the native Android app and ongoing cloud-enabled features.

You will build high-quality mobile features, collaborate across teams, and contribute to scalable architectures powering real-time smart home experiences.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Experience with Spec-Driven Development or dynamic UI driven by backend JSON schemas.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and managing complex client-side state.
• Familiarity with MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar patterns.
• Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Android features for Home Protection experiences.
• Collaborate with product, backend, and device teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to app architecture, design discussions, and high-leverage technical decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable Kotlin code using modern Android frameworks, including cross-platform frameworks where appropriate.
• Implement and expand dynamic, Spec-Driven Development rendering frameworks driven by backend JSON schemas.
• Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience across integration layers.
• Debug and resolve complex production and connectivity issues.
• Participate in code reviews and support a culture of continuous improvement.
