Job summary

Verizon is seeking an experienced Android systems specialist to lead day-to-day technical support across OEM partners such as Google, Samsung, and Motorola. You will triage production issues, coordinate fixes, and ensure timely resolution with OEMs.

You will test, debug, and optimize client software across Android releases, analyze features, write system-level code with AI tools, and document architecture and procedures while mentoring engineers and coordinating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training.
• Experience with mobile or embedded systems, including direct production-support experience.
• Experience supporting multiple Android OEM variants across concurrent OS releases.
• Experience using modern AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, or triage workflows.
• Deep, low-level understanding of the Android operating system, framework, and ecosystem.
• Working knowledge of other mobile platforms, such as iOS.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Java.
• Experience debugging at the driver or system level.
• Extensive experience capturing and analyzing system-level mobile logs, such as logcat and modem logs.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and OEMs on technical roadmaps and project timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Android technical support across key OEM partners including Google, Samsung, and Motorola.
• Triage production issues, coordinate fixes, and ensure timely resolution with OEMs.
• Test, debug, and optimize Verizon client software across multiple Android OS releases.
• Analyze and evaluate new device features and client-side software solutions for product and network feasibility.
• Write, debug, and refine system-level code using modern AI-assisted tools.
• Document software architecture, implementation steps, and support procedures.
• Represent Verizon in technical discussions with OS providers such as Google/Android.
• Liaise between external OEM engineering groups and internal development teams.
• Translate device capabilities into clear system requirements.
• Mentor engineers on Android platform architecture, low-level software debugging, and OEM collaboration.
