Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Jersey City seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive critical tech solutions as part of an agile team in Wholesale Credit Risk Technology Analytics. You will implement across multiple domains and support business functions to achieve firm objectives.

Responsibilities include delivering secure production code, code reviews, automation, and leading architectural discussions with vendors and internal teams. Strong cloud, security, and SDLC expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in coding in Python.
• Experience coding in Java.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, ML, mobile).
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering.
• Provide guidance to junior software engineers.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, inclusion and respect.
