Job summary

OVO Energy is hiring a Senior Analytics Manager to lead a team of analysts, building MI that tells the story of our business. You will partner with multiple functions to shape domains, design MI, and reduce time to find information for decision making.

You will motivate a high-performing team, coordinate across groups and drive a strategy to improve data quality and governance, while exploring AI-enabled insights for future value creation.

This role in a nutshell:

An exciting opportunity in this new role you’ll be leading a team of experienced analysts to create engaging MI that tells the story of our business. You will lead a team of Analytics Managers, Senior Analysts and Analysts to partner with each of the business functions to shape their domains and bring thought leadership on how to design MI for their function with an eye on reducing the time it takes for teams to find the right information and maximise their decision-making capability.

This role is for a natural born motivator who can lead a team of analysts to have high impact on the OVO Operation both in terms of the reduction in time spent understanding performance and being able to quantify the impact. With an eye to the future you will be influencing the leadership team and future direction of MI and with their input be able to articulate a clear vision for each function and Operations overall.

Your key outcomes will be:

• Connect all partner functions MI within the end-to-end to show cause and effect for regular data
• Articulate the demand and potential solutions from partnering as a key input into improvement activities such as goal-mapping and PI planning to support with future MI across all Operations
• Drive a partner model with Operations with a team of principal analyst to provide thought leadership in MI
• Collaborates with top leadership (Directors and C-suite) in shaping their domains, particularly from a data perspective. Brings thought leadership on collaboration to Ovo.
• Lead on creating a strategy and improvement plan to reduce the cost of consumption of MI across Operations by implementing improvement plans based around “The System of MI” programme
• Lead a team of business partner analysts who will build an overall narrative of performance with each function and build a view of demand for each area
• Future strategy of AI and insight - pilot and test a solution with cross-functional teams using Tableau Pulse
• Engage positively with other group such as Product and Data Science
• Promote Innovation and Adaptability: Encourage the team to stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative practices, fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement
• Create for all of our analysts a clear development & career path with investment in the team's technical skills.
• Foster a Collaborative Environment: Encourage open communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing among team members to leverage diverse perspectives and expertise.

You’ll be a successful Senior Analytics Manager here at OVO if you…

• Are comfortable leading a team of senior analysts to drive change through MI - helping them to understand the impact of their work and it is connected to the wider business strategy, create clear development plans with an investment in your team’s technical skills
• Passionate about partnering with senior leaders to drive better decisions - driving an improvement strategy to reduce the effort taken to understand performance and bring consistency to how we look at performance. Building a narrative of performance weekly to tell the story of performance with our operational leaders and tying this to longer term performance trends.
• Values and promotes the benefit of best in practice data quality - improving our data quality using the data maturity framework set by our Data governance team to make it easier for us to look at performance data end-to-end.
• Are able to lead prioritisation calls with senior operations leaders - creating business cases for large MI projects and able to lead conversations to effectively prioritise whilst trading off against capacity for functional priorities

We’ll pay you between £63800 and £80000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
