Job summary

Petco is seeking an analytics expert in the Operations Planning & Store Processes team to guide strategic analytics across business units. You will translate complex analyses into clear insights, build dashboards, and influence decisions with data-driven recommendations.

You will collaborate with IT, Merchandising, and Marketing to optimize customer and partner metrics and drive store performance. A strong background in retail analytics and reporting is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, math or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years analytics experience.
• Experience with data warehouses, reporting tools, and statistical programming languages (MicroStrategy, Tableau, SQL) required.
• Expert in Excel with advanced functions, pivots, lookups, macros, dashboards.
• Experience building large data sets across disparate sources.
• Advanced reporting and presentation skills (MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator).
• Retail industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication with senior management.
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Mine data with advanced analytical techniques and develop stakeholder relationships.
• Perform workforce analytics: wage rate influences, staffing recommendations, and related impacts.
• Build financial models from customer/partner data and business initiatives.
• Identify new methods to solve complex problems and perform data mining.
• Present findings to senior leadership with clear insights, opportunities, and actions.
• Develop automated dashboards and compelling data visualizations to measure metrics.
• Lead cross-functional projects from scope to execution and training.
• Demonstrate curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
