Job summary

Alchemer is seeking a senior software engineer with a data-centric focus to lead analytics product development. You will own end-to-end technical direction, spanning front-end in React and backend in Python, with data pipelines, APIs, and DX improvements.

You will work across teams to design scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and drive continuous delivery while integrating AI and ML capabilities into analytics features. This role emphasizes performance at scale and user-focused dashboards.

Qualifications

• You have 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Breadth across the stack is valued, with strength in frontend and React.
• Experience with analytics, BI, or data visualization platforms is a plus.
• Strong command of databases, data structures, and query optimization.
• Ability to design for performance and scale in data-intensive apps.

Responsibilities

• Make major hands-on contributions to Alchemer’s analytics products, including building new services and interfaces, leading significant changes, and maintaining the existing portfolio.
• Contribute to architectural designs and systemic processes for reliable, scalable products.
• Take initiatives from concept through production, owning the technical approach.
• Build and optimize services, pipelines, and query paths behind analytics products to ensure performance at scale.
• Design and build APIs and surfaces used by internal and external teams and partners.
• Build the front-end with UX collaboration to handle real data volumes.
• Collaborate with product managers to shape requirements and balance usability, cost, and performance.
• Provide technical judgment in sprint and release planning, addressing debt thoughtfully.
• Incorporate AI/ML capabilities into analytics features like retrieval and NLP.
• Use telemetry and feedback to identify bottlenecks and improve performance.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes for smoother releases and confidence.
• Mentor engineers, raise the bar on code and design reviews, share knowledge.
• Consider full lifecycle from conception to sunset.
