Job summary

Bold Penguin is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to shape data-driven decisions across a fully remote Insurance tech platform. You will architect analytics, migrate assets from Redshift/Tableau to Snowflake and Sigma/Hex, and build self-service data apps and dashboards for business users.

You will lead semantic modeling, write Python scripts for automation, and extend analytics with AI/LLMs like Claude to enhance insurance use cases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a similar technical role.
• Expert-level SQL skills with deep understanding of data warehouse concepts.
• Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling.
• Proficiency building data applications, dashboards, and reports in Sigma and/or Hex.
• Proven experience migrating from legacy data warehouses (Redshift) or BI tools (Tableau) to a modern analytics stack.
• Experience with Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse (required). Familiarity with Redshift is a plus.
• Proven experience building/maintaining a semantic layer to serve multiple applications.
• Python for analytics automation, predictive modeling, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data models using dbt core.
• Lead and execute migration of data assets from Redshift and Tableau to Snowflake, Sigma, and Hex.
• Build interactive data applications, dashboards, and reports in Sigma and Hex for self-service analytics.
• Design, build, and govern a centralized semantic layer to standardize metrics.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for analytics automation and reporting.
• Implement data quality testing frameworks to ensure reliable data.
• Integrate AI/LLMs (including Claude) into analytics workflows for automation and AI-enabled insights.
• Create and manage JIRA epics, stories, and tasks to track work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
