Job summary

Thomas James Homes seeks a senior data engineer to design, build and operate the enterprise data platform on Microsoft Fabric in Aliso Viejo, CA. You will develop reliable pipelines, lakehouse/warehouses, semantic models, and analytics to turn complex data into trusted insights.

You will partner with stakeholders, ensure data quality, enable self-service reporting with Power BI, and advance AI-enabled decision making across the business. 5+ years of experience in data engineering and BI required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, or related role.
• Hands-on in production data pipelines, data models, and analytics in a cloud environment (Microsoft).

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, test, deploy, and support end-to-end data solutions in Microsoft Fabric (lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines, semantic models).
• Design scalable ingestion patterns from ERP/CRM/SaaS/APIs and other sources.
• Develop data transformations using SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Build Power BI semantic models, KPIs, and secure reporting datasets.
• Define reporting requirements with stakeholders and translate insights into actions.
• Establish data quality controls, lineage, and data dictionaries.
