Job summary

Thistle Health is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead the evolution of its data infrastructure, models, and governance. You will partner with cross‑functional leaders to enable data‑driven decisions and scale analytics across the business.

As a senior member of the analytics team, you will design end‑to‑end data pipelines, mentor engineers, and optimize cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift while championing best practices and scalable data products.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data architecture, or data engineering.
• Proven experience building and scaling cloud-based data ecosystems using dbt, Airflow, and a cloud data warehouse.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with strong data modeling and transformation skills.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders across levels and functions.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and governance of end‑to‑end data infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
• Design and implement core data models and pipelines (ETL/ELT) for analytics and reporting.
• Define data definitions, metrics, and source‑of‑truth models across teams.
• Mentor analytics engineers and analysts to raise technical standards.
• Partner with senior leadership to identify data-enabled business opportunities.
• Optimize performance of the data warehouse, workflows, and queries.
• Champion tooling such as dbt, Airflow, version control, testing, and docs.
• Build scalable data products, dashboards, and exploration tools for stakeholders.
