About this role

In this role you will support the analytics team, which provides analytics and insight services to teams across the KGS Residential Fire Business Unit. You will conduct analysis and drive projects while championing our mission to be data driven. The role is highly visible with broad exposure to senior leaders across the business and offers significant professional development, including the chance to mentor junior analysts.

Key Responsibilities

Business Acumen and Data Analysis:
  • Develop a deep understanding of KGS' business strategies, objectives, and competitive landscape.
  • Serve as the data expert for assigned lines of business within the organization.
  • Support the delivery of customized analyses, leveraging internal and external datasets.
  • Run weekly and monthly brand reports to help teams understand trends.
  • Support sales, product, marketing and supply chain teams to leverage data-driven analytics for informed decision-making that drive business outcomes, results, and value.
  • Build visual analytics and dashboards as appropriate.

Problem Solving and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Develop business cases and frame analytical solutions that address business problems and opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for analytical initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with teams on materials for line reviews, promotional analysis, new product launches, etc.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Regularly review and analyze business performance to identify areas for improvement and propose analytic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with analysts and the extended teams to implement these solutions effectively.

Ad-hoc Analysis:
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed to support special projects and initiatives.


Basic Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years data analytics experience
  • 3+ years of experience using MS Excel(V/H Lookup, Pivot tables, formulas, charts)
  • 3+ years of experience using data visualization tools and techniques (Power BI, or others) to drive business decisions


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Data Analytics, Finance, or Other)
  • Experience working in the CPG (Consumer Package Goods) industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of database concepts such as database structures, query languages (SQL), and data warehousing principles (Snowflake)
  • Proven track record of building collaborative relationships across functional areas
  • Self-starter with an ability to drive projects from initiation to completion
  • Adept at prioritizing work and key projects based on the needs of the team and the business
