Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University IT department is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to design, implement, and support internal end-user applications and related infrastructure. You will monitor performance, ensure security, and collaborate with teams to align IT with business needs.

The role requires five years of Windows Server and Active Directory administration, PowerShell automation, virtualization (Hyper-V/VMware), and cloud integration (Azure AD).

Qualifications

• 5 years related work experience.
• Expertise in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory services, including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and advanced administration, as well as virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware.
• Experience with cloud integration (Azure AD, hybrid environments), patch management (WSUS), and backup/disaster recovery solutions.
• Strong understanding of security hardening, endpoint protection, and performance monitoring tools such as PerfMon, SCOM, and SolarWinds.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and VPNs.

• Analyze system performance, optimize configurations, and resolve complex technical issues and escalations to maintain reliability.

• Identify and implement process automation opportunities, develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs for operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts while collaborating with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years related work experience
