Senior Analyst, Subscriber Growth & Monetization
Job Summary
The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Entertainment (DE) group leads a broad portfolio of entertainment media and content globally, including Disney+ and Hulu. The DTC Subscriber Growth & Monetization team serves as in‑house advisers to Direct‑to‑Consumer executive leadership, owning global subscriber, engagement, and revenue growth planning and reporting. This role supports Disney+ International, helping to model subscriber growth, develop and track KPIs, identify new business and product opportunities, and participate in strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with local regional teams on the subscriber business planning process, providing justification for key subscription metrics through in‑depth trending analysis.
- Forecast and model subscriber impacts from internal factors (content, product, etc.) and external factors (macroeconomics, competitors, etc.).
- Work with centralized DTC teams—marketing, product, content, and data—to incorporate initiatives and trends for model accuracy.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of operating performance (acquisition, retention), major deals, and industry trends.
- Create compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write‑ups) that effectively communicate subscriber projections, drivers, performance, and risks to leadership.
- Provide strategic recommendations for new business initiatives, quantify business issues, and analyze large amounts of subscriber data from past events.
- Support structuring of partnership deals to maximize net subscriber growth and operating income while minimizing cannibalization and aligning launch dates with market expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of professional experience in media, tech, strategy, business planning, management consulting, investment banking, or private equity.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Economics, or a related field with an analytical bias.
- Strong Excel‑based business modeling skills, including experience with subscription or recurring‑revenue businesses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to simplify complex matters for executive audiences.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally, manage multiple stakeholders, and build relationships across a large organization.
- Highly organized, with strong prioritization, timeline management, and pressure handling.
- Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently in a fast‑growing environment with multiple partners.
- Passion for the media industry, international business, and content, coupled with natural curiosity.
- Familiarity with global, large organizations and demonstrated or knowledge of international business is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $112,700 to $154,800 per year. Base pay will consider internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The role is full‑time and located in Santa Monica, CA.
