Location: Remote Working

Type:Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

About the job

We are seeking a Second Line Risk Officer who will actively participate in the full risk management lifecycle, including risk and control identification workshops, supporting and challenging risk and control assessments, and rolling out training in line with RMF developments. As this is a Second Line role, where creativity is actively encouraged, and we value those who bring both experience and opinions to the table. The successful candidate will be joining at a particularly interesting period where we are implementing significant RMF improvements including the roll out of a new GRC system. This is an enterprise risk role; however, the preferred candidate will have a solid foundation in operational risk. Experience with using GRC systems is essential.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years working in a professional risk management role, with experience across multiple industries
  • Strong experience in Operational and Technology based Risk
  • Good knowledge and experience of GRC tooling is essential
  • Excellent understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and proactively.
  • Pro-active attitude towards learning and making valuable contribution
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent presentation skills with keen eye on details.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in the identification, analysis, management, and effective monitoring of risks and issues.
  • Actively engage with the implementation of Velonetic’s RMF, i.e. utilise your skills and experience to help us bring about positive change and deliver value to the business
  • Support the Risk Leads in the creation of various Risk related reports and presentations for the board and various committees
  • Support updates to policies, process and standard documents relating to Risk Management
  • Collaborate with other members of the risk management team to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management across the organisation
  • Maintain professional relationships with business teams
  • Provide support and guidance to embed a positive risk culture
