Job summary

Avangrid is seeking an experienced health, safety and environment professional to establish, administer and monitor company-wide EH&S standards, procedures and performance, minimizing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on occupational health and safety, providing specialized technical expertise and support for hazard elimination, program development, and performance reporting. Collaboration with affiliate companies is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Able to work independently and exercise judgment and decision-making.
  • Able to direct outside consultants and evaluate progress.
  • Strong training and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate/oversee contractors and consultants.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies to minimize risks.
  • Develop corporate compliance programs for safety and environmental procedures.
  • Serve as primary technical expert in safety, industrial hygiene and environmental matters.
  • Conduct worker safety training in-house and on-site.
  • Produce reports and enforce regulations.
  • Lead root cause investigations and provide executive level reports.
  • Prepare compliance reports and participate in 24-hour emergency response.

The salary range for this position is based on experience level ranging from $87,000 to $109,500 plus up to 16% bonus

Job Summary

Establishes, administers and monitors company-wide standards, procedures and performance, within areas of expertise, to minimize risk and ensure compliance with environmental health and safety areas as it relates to their regulatory and legal requirements. Specializes and focuses on occupational health and safety. Provides specialized technical expertise and support for the elimination of hazards and prevention of injuries, program development, and performance tracking and reporting. Provides assistance to affiliate companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities include coordinating/overseeing contractors and consultants.
  • Interfaces with the appropriate regulatory agencies, minimizing corporate risks and public liabilities.
  • Develops Corporate compliance programs, including safety, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental procedures that minimize risks, specify appropriate personal protective equipment and safe work procedures.
  • Serves as the Company's primary technical expert in the area of safety, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental matters.
  • Conducts worker safety training both in house and in the field.
  • Produces reports and enforces all regulations
  • Leads Root Cause accident and incident investigations and provides executive level reports.
  • Prepares compliance reports, tracks regulations and standards, and participates in the Company's 24-hour emergency response program.
