Overview
Forrester’s Senior Analyst is a key member of the data, AI and analytics research team. The role focuses on building data foundations that support analytics and machine learning, delivering research to enterprise data leaders and guiding vendors on market trends.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and deliver primary research on modern data foundations, including data quality, governance, and context‑ready data to enhance analytics, data science, ML and AI product development.
- Help clients activate, measure and scale the use of analytics, data science, ML and AI for business‑focused outcomes and use cases.
- Drive alignment among internal stakeholders on data and analytical priorities that support business impact.
- Create 8 to 12 high‑quality, actionable research projects per year, including written reports, tools, webinars, videos, blogs, podcasts and infographics.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to promote visibility for research outputs.
- Lead key Forrester Wave™ and Landscape reports that evaluate vendors in data, analytics and AI technologies.
- Consult clients on applying Forrester research to their specific business environment and address short‑term and longer‑term engagement needs.
- Present at Forrester‑sponsored and industry events, and deliver client webinars.
- Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker, build relationships with journalists, and respond to press inquiries.
- Support business development and prospect conversations as arranged by account leadership teams.
- Foster a culture of cross‑team collaboration, mentorship, integrity and positive pursuits.
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree (MBA or MS in a related field preferred).
- At least five years of hands‑on experience in data science, machine learning models, data engineering, data management or related disciplines in a $1billion enterprise or technology vendor.
- Alternatively, at least five years of experience as a research analyst or consultant with large‑scale data management and data engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of the data science/ML and data management technology market, vendor capabilities, top use cases and common architectural patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as an advisor to senior management and C‑level clients.
- Superior client‑facing communication, listening, critical thinking and collaboration skills.
- Strong knowledge of the issues and challenges that AI and technology executives face, including emerging technology markets, economics, labor and econometrics.
- Ability to distill complex, disparate ideas into simple, bold concepts and take a stand on outcomes with clients, vendors, press and competition.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Compensation
Base salary range: $119,000 - $193,000 (US, non‑NYC). Base salary range for New York City, NY: $136,000 - $222,000.
